Air Accessories & Avionics
Inc. Warranty Policy
Thank you for giving Air Accessories & Avionics, Inc. the opportunity to
maintain and service your Rockwell Collins rotables. We strive to give you
the highest caliber of quality and value with each unit we service. Although
we take many steps to ensure our work is free of defects, sometimes discrepancies
do arise. Whether the problem is related to parts or workmanship, it is our
intention to stand behind our work. Please become familiarized with our warranty
policy so you have a clear understanding in the manner that Air Accessories & Avionics,
Inc. honors warranty requests.
What is the warranty period
for an overhaul?
Because Air Accessories & Avionics, Inc. holds capabilities
on units that range in age from forty years plus to current
production, we have categorized our warranty period based
on whether the unit is still in production or is out of
production. As you can appreciate, units that are out of
production are very old and tend to not be the most reliable.
Of course, many end users continue to fly these components,
so we then too, continue to service them. Therefore, units
that are out of production will have a warranty period
of six months from date of overhaul. Units that are still
in production will have a warranty period of twelve months
from date of overhaul. The warranty applies when the customer's
complaint is confirmed and the part(s) that caused the
failure was the one replaced at the time of the original
overhaul. If the failure is due to a part that was not
replaced at the time of original overhaul, the part may
be charged and the labor will be performed at no cost to
the customer.

What is the warranty period
for repairs?
The repair warranty period is ninety days from date of
repair. Warranty applies when the customer's complaint
is confirmed and the part (s) that caused the failure was
replaced at the time of original repair. Parts that fail
and were not replaced at the time of original repair, will
be billed along with any applicable labor charges.

What is the warranty period
for a bench check or functional check?
Because Air Accessories & Avionics, Inc. does not
actually perform any maintenance on a unit that is bench
checked, warranty does not apply. In cases where failures
cannot be confirmed, customer will be responsible for a
bench check labor charge.

What condition will my unit
be tagged if I send it in for warranty?
It depends. If the unit is put on the bench and the complaint
cannot be duplicated or confirmed, the unit will not require
any repair since no trouble was found. The unit will be
returned with a Bench Check tag and the customer will be
billed a bench check fee. If the complaint or fault is
confirmed, then the unit will require to be repaired and
the unit will be tagged Repaired. Any charges related to
the repair will be governed by the warranty policy for
overhaul or repair.

Who can send in a unit for
warranty consideration?
Air Accessories & Avionics, Inc. will honor warranty
consideration on any units we've serviced regardless of
whom the work was originally performed for. You, your customer
or your customer's customer, may return the unit to us
for evaluation in the event of a failure.

Who is responsible for freight
costs related to a warranty?
The warranty policy of Air Accessories & Avionics,
Inc. does not make any provisions for freight costs related
to warranty considerations. It will be the sole responsibility
of the unit's owner to send and return the unit from the
shop at their own cost.

How do I void my warranty?
We want to be fair and thorough when evaluating our customer's
warranty requests. Unfortunately, we cannot honor warranty
under any circumstance if our warranty seals are missing,
pulled, cut or tampered with whatsoever. Often, customers
attempt to fix units on their own and after not having
any success, send the unit in for warranty. At that point,
we have no idea if there was more harm than good done.
Please, preserve and ask your customers to preserve our
warranty seals-this is the only barometer we have to ensure
that the integrity of our work has been maintained! Additionally,
if there is obvious, physical evidence (i.e. bent/broken
connector pins, damaged connectors) that the unit was handled
or installed improperly, warranty will be voided. Often
this type of abuse can and will cause a failure. Induced
failures will not be covered under warranty.
